Five Little Leprechauns
Five little leprechauns digging for some gold,
One slipped upon some mud and fell into a hole.
The others called a fairy and too them she told,
"No more leprechauns digging for gold!"
Four little leprechauns digging for some gold,
One slipped upon some mud and fell into a hole.
The others called a fairy and too them she told,
"No more leprechauns digging for gold!"
Three Little leprechauns digging for some gold,
One slipped upon some mud and fell into a hole.
The others called the fair and too them she told,
"No more leprechauns digging for gold!"
Two Little leprechauns digging for some gold,
One slipped upon some mud and fell into a hole.
The others called the fair and too them she told,
"No more leprechauns digging for gold!"
One Little leprechauns digging for some gold,
One slipped upon some mud and fell into a hole.
The others called the fair and too them she told,
"No more leprechauns digging for gold!"
All five in the hole.
Above them the fairy scolds,
"I told you to stop digging for that gold!"
Wee Little Patrick
(Tune: Yankee Doodle)
Patrick is a leprechaun.
Has a sack of gold.
He hides it in a special place,
Between two stumps, I'm told.
I think I once saw Patrick.
Out in the woods at play.
He smiled an laughed and winked his eye.
And then he ran away.
Don't try to follow Patrick.
To find his sack.
He'll twist and jump and run away
and he never will come back.
St. Patrick's Day
(Tune: Skip to my Lou)
Let's wear green and dance a jig,
Let's wear green and dance a jig,
Let's wear gree and dance a jig,
On St. Patrick's Day.
Let's find a clover with four leaves,
Let's find a clover with four leaves,
Let's find a clover with four leaves,
On St. Patrick's Day.
Let's look for leprechauns on the way,
Let's look for leprechauns on the way,
Let's look for leprechauns on the way,
On St. Patrick's Day.
Let's search for gold at the rainbow's end,
Let's search for gold at the rainbow's end,
Let's search for gold at the rainbow's end,
On St. Patrick's Day
Leprechaun, Leprechaun
Leprechaun, Leprechaun, reach up high.
Leprechaun, Leprechaun, turn around.
Leprechaun, Leprechaun, touch the ground.
Leprechaun, Leprechaun, show your shoe.
Leprechaun, Leprechaun, that will do.
I'm a Little Leprechaun
(Tune: I'm a Little Tea Pot)
I'm a little leprechaun dressed in green.
The tiniest man that you ever have seen.
If you ever catch me, so it's told.
I'll give you my big ol' pot of gold.

Shamrocks and Leprechaun Feet
How to build the trail:
Shamrocks:
1. Print as many of the image as desired
Leprechaun Feet:
1. Clicking on the link.
2. Scroll down to the post for Monday, March 18, 2013, entitled Sight Word Footprints.
3. Print as many feet as desired on DARK GREEN PAPER.
(It just doesn't have the same affect if printed on a different shade of green paper.)
4. When cutting feet apart, make sure to keep a pair of feet together
(there will be one row of extra single feet at the end of each two sets of feet).
Creating the trail:
(This can be done on the wall or the floor)
Place a shamrock and a set of leprechaun feet every other one creating a trail from a specific destiantion (I did the front entry way to the story time room), creating a trail to the story time room or space.
